Volunteering

Volunteers are a very special resource and we solicit and welcome your many talents. Parents are encouraged to volunteer by notifying the PTA Volunteer Committee, the guidance counselor or IRT, and/or the teachers. Some teachers can use your help right from your home. for example you can help with a classroom webpage.Communicating your service availability is important so the teachers can plan a productive volunteer activity. Remember to sign the VOLUNTEER LOG and get a visitor pass in the office whenever you come to volunteer.
Plan ahead for you must register with Wake County to before you can start to volunteer. All volunteers ( including field trip chaperones) must register online. Please visit Timber Drive to complete the online registration and and sign a confidentiality agreement. Call the office for more information and updated times when you can do this at 773-9500.

The Wake County Public School System has numerous community partners who volunteer in our schools each day, working one-on-one with students to help them reach success. Volunteers serve as literacy and math coaches, mentors, and business partners, providing valuable support to our schools. We urge the entire community to get involved in our schools to help us better serve all of our students.

History
At the urging of the community, the Board of Education established Goal 2003 in 1998: By 2003, 95 percent of students tested will be at or above grade level as measured by the N.C. End-of-Grade testing at grades 3 and 8. To reach this goal, schools, parents, businesses, churches and the community must work together to meet the needs of our children.
